Last updated: May 9, 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by ClearShield Advisory ("we", "us", "our"), including our website at clearshieldadvisory.com, our merchant portal at app.clearshieldadvisory.com, our AI-powered phone and SMS services, and all associated integrations. By using our services you agree to these Terms. These Terms apply both to merchants who subscribe to ClearShield ("Merchants") and to end users who interact with our voice or SMS services on a merchant's behalf ("End Users").
Our Services
ClearShield Advisory LLC, operating the ScoreACut brand, provides an AI-powered voice receptionist and customer-communication platform for barbers, hair stylists, and personal-grooming professionals. Our platform answers inbound calls using AI voice agents, books appointments into the merchant's calendar, generates quotes, and — where the merchant has authorized it — issues payment links and invoices on the merchant's behalf during live calls.
Terms for Merchants
Subscription and Billing
- Merchants subscribe to ScoreACut on a monthly basis. Subscription fees and any per-call or per-minute usage charges are billed through Stripe.
- Subscription pricing for the ScoreACut brand starts at $199/month per merchant (covering both barber and stylist verticals); current published rates appear in the iOS app and on the merchant portal at sign-up.
- Fees are disclosed at sign-up and may change with 30 days' notice.
- Failed payments may result in service suspension. Suspended tenants' voice agents stop taking calls until the account is brought current.
- Merchants may cancel at any time; cancellation is effective at the end of the current billing cycle and fees already paid are non-refundable except as required by law.
Third-Party Integrations (OAuth Authorizations)
The full functionality of ClearShield depends on merchant-authorized integrations with third-party providers. By connecting any third-party provider through your portal, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Google Calendar: Granting calendar access allows our voice agent to create, read, and update appointment events on your primary calendar. Your use of Google Calendar is also subject to Google's own terms; revoking access in your Google account will disable agent booking until reconnected.
- Stripe (Stripe Connect): Connecting Stripe binds you to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement and Stripe's Services Agreement in addition to these Terms. You authorize ClearShield to create payment links, invoices, customers, and related Stripe objects on your behalf via Stripe Connect. Funds flow directly between the payer and your Stripe account — ClearShield never takes custody of funds.
- Square: Connecting Square binds you to Square's Developer and Seller Agreements in addition to these Terms. You authorize ClearShield to issue payment links, invoices, orders, and customer records via Square's APIs. Funds flow directly between the payer and your Square account — ClearShield never takes custody of funds.
- Revocation: You may disconnect any integration at any time via your portal Settings page or directly through the provider's dashboard. Upon revocation, the affected functionality is disabled but your ClearShield subscription continues.
- Your responsibility: You are responsible for the accuracy of any pricing, service descriptions, or invoice contents configured in or routed through your connected accounts. ClearShield acts on the instructions given to the voice agent during a call; we do not independently verify the appropriateness of a payment amount or service description.
Tenant Data and Content
- You retain ownership of your business's customer data (contact information, call notes, appointment records).
- You grant ClearShield a limited license to store, process, and operate on that data for the purpose of delivering the service.
- Upon account cancellation, your data enters a 30-day soft-delete window during which it is hidden from active use but recoverable by support on your request. After 30 days, all tenant data — call recordings, transcripts, contacts, connected-account tokens, and billing history — is hard-deleted from our systems and is not recoverable. Inbound call recordings and transcripts are retained for up to 12 months from the date of the call regardless of cancellation status, after which they are deleted on the same retention schedule.
Acceptable Use
You may not use ScoreACut to: (a) send unsolicited marketing or spam SMS/calls; (b) collect deposits or payments for goods or services you are not legally authorized to sell; (c) misrepresent your identity or business to end users; (d) violate Stripe's, Square's, Google's, Twilio's, or any telephony carrier's acceptable use policies.
You must additionally:
- Comply with the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, and any applicable state law governing call recording (including two-party-consent recording laws in California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Washington, among others). Where your agent operates in a two-party-consent jurisdiction, the agent's pre-call recording notice and the merchant's own call-handling practices must satisfy local consent requirements.
- Honor end-user opt-outs. The platform automatically blocks future system SMS to any number that has replied STOP, and merchants may not attempt to circumvent the opt-out list.
- Limit voice cloning (when enabled) to recordings of the merchant's own voice or another individual whose written consent the merchant has obtained.
Terms for End Users (Callers)
Appointment Booking
- Appointments are scheduled through the merchant's voice agent and written to the merchant's calendar. The merchant — not ClearShield — is the party responsible for fulfilling the appointment.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule on the merchant's behalf with reasonable notice.
- Calls may be recorded for quality assurance and training. You will be notified at the beginning of the call if recording is active.
Quotes and Payment Links
- Any quote provided by the voice agent is an estimate based on the information you provide during the call. The merchant's actual invoice may differ and the merchant is the party responsible for honoring any quoted pricing.
- Payment links and invoices issued during a call are generated on the merchant's Stripe or Square account. ClearShield never takes custody of funds. Disputes regarding a charge should be raised first with the merchant and second with Stripe or Square under their respective dispute procedures.
SMS Messaging
- SMS messages are sent only with your explicit verbal consent given during a phone call.
- Message types: appointment confirmations, quote follow-ups, and payment links related to your call. No marketing or promotional messages.
- Message frequency: typically one message per booking or payment request.
- Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.
- You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.
- For help, reply HELP to any message or call the number you originally used to reach us.
- Supported carriers include but are not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Service may not be available on all carriers.

All content on our website and portal, including text, graphics, logos, software, AI prompts, and pricing engines, is the property of ClearShield Advisory and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClearShield Advisory shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the services giving rise to the claim in the 12 months preceding the claim. ClearShield is not liable for the acts or omissions of any merchant, end user, or third-party provider (including Stripe, Square, Google, Twilio, and AI service providers).

We do not guarantee that our phone system, website, SMS services, or AI voice agent responses will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free. AI systems can produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading output; merchants are responsible for reviewing and correcting agent actions where appropriate.
Indemnification
Merchants agree to indemnify and hold ClearShield Advisory harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) the merchant's violation of these Terms or of any third-party provider's terms; (b) the merchant's breach of its obligations to its end-user customers; (c) the merchant's unauthorized or unlawful collection of payments.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the State of Washington.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes affecting Merchants will be communicated by email at least 30 days before taking effect.
